On this wiki, there are a handful of groups that are assigned for moderation purposes. Our check bounced and we're coping by saying we're volunteers Everyone on this wiki is a volunteer! We do this out of pure interest, and you can too! As a user, if you prove yourself worthy, you can become one of the people listed below.
System administrator
System administrators, also known as sysadmins, are the people who run the server from the backend. They are to blame when something is broken, because they probably fucked up LocalSettings.php yet again, or downloaded an extension for the wrong version. Unfortunate.
All system administrators are bureaucrats.

Bureaucrats
The absolute overseers of the wiki. Bureaucrats are also known as crates or simply crats. They are permitted check user access, as well as the ability to rename users, and assign any user group.
Bureaucrats are also administrators, and as such, they hold all of the rights associated with administrators.

These users are also known as sysops (system operators), and they are the people who keep the wiki clean and safe. They are entrusted with the ability to protect pages, block users from the wiki, delete pages which don't meet our standards, as well as a few more abilities.

Moderators
Moderator is the only moderation related user group that can be assigned by administrators. They handle basic stuff like page deletion, blocking vandals, and protecting pages from vandalism.

Interface administrators
Unlike the other user groups in this page, IAs have no extra access to a user's account status, nor do they have extra abilities to modify protected pages. Instead, they have the ability to edit pages in the MediaWiki: namespace. This includes the Sitenotice.

Patrollers
Patrollers are the first line of defense in the wiki; it is a very important user group, and that's why this isn't even the main page for patrollers (read Project:Patrollers). This is a common stepping stone in the journey of becoming a moderator, administrator or bureaucrat.
